Discover fresh, high-quality avocados sourced from Kenya.
Our products are from the highly trained organic farmers of Machakos region following the strict fair trade business principal. The harvest season of Hass avocado is from April to September and of Fuerte avocado is from March to September. Our avocados from Kenya are 14-26 in size and take about one week to ripen, after which they have a durability of 2 weeks. Samples of the fruit are available upon request.
In 2020, Kenyan avocado exports hit a record high in the first half of the year with more than 58,400 tons sold to 42 countries. The major fresh produce distribution hub in Europe for Kenyan Avocados is the Netherlands (16.3M kg by June 2020).
Most of the Avocado farmers in production counties such as Machakos in Kenya are organized into groups. Our suppliers work closely with service providers who conduct farm audits, follow the Integrated Farm Management practices to check for pest infestations and guide farmers with the condition of production. After harvesting, our suppliers pack avocados at warehouses in Nairobi near the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and the Mombasa port for easy air and sea freights respectively. Inspection of the pack houses is done by special authorities such as the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) Horticultural Crops Directorate (HCD)
